The best company to register in Zimbabwe is a Private Limited Company. This is the most common and popular type of company in Zimbabwe. It offers limited liability protection, separate legal entity status, and is suitable for small to medium sized businesses and large businesses.

Alternatively, you can register Private Business Corporation (PBC). It was designed for small businesses and/or sole traders and it is suitable for very small operations or sole traders who usually operate as consultants such as accountants, doctors, architects etc.

After registering a company in Zimbabwe, you will receive the following important documents:

For a Private Limited Company

1. Certificate of Incorporation – This is the main document that confirms that the company has been registered with the Companies Registry. It includes the company name, company number, date of incorporation.
2. CR 5 – This document confirms the company addresses i.e. physical, postal and email addresses.
3. CR 6 – This legal document confirms the company directors and secretary.
4. Memorandum and Articles of Association –  legal documents that set out the objects of the company and the rules and regulations of the company’s opreations and management. They also show the number of shares in the company, the shareholders and the number of shares taken.
5. Share cerificates – A document that shows proof of ownership of shares in a company.
6. Company register – A record of the company’s directors, shareholders and other impoertant details. It is a legal requirement to mantain an up-to-date company register.

For a Private Business Corporation

1. Certificate of Incorporation
2. CR 28 – Reflects the objects of the company, company addresses and the PBC members.
